Of your suggestions I'd pick Ralph Fiennes as Mr. Doyle. Also, nice one for Madam LeFarge I didn't think of Helena for her. I thought of her for Miss Moore though. But I see Madam LeFarge as a bit on the heavy side.

I think in the 1st book it mentioned LeFArge as being kind thick. I think Helena Bonham Carter is too small. Just my opinion though

I know that Madam LeFarge is supposed to be big but they got ways in film industry to make you look bigger than you are!! It's just that Helena has a very unique air of her own, she could pass as a British with a French finesse, she looks pretty age-less (Madam LeFarge age is not well defined) cause she could pass as someone in her thirties as easily as she could pass as someone much older and she's a kick ass actress!! Of course I'm always open to suggestions!!
Mrs. Nightwing age is not well defined either so I played it safe!! Judi Dench is a legend!!! There's nothing you can through her way that she can't handle!! Maggie Smith and Imelda Staunton would be great as well!! Now that I come to think of it, it's very possible that Mrs. Nightwing isn't over 50, cause if back then you were considered un-marriageable at the age of 25 (or maybe even younger) and 20 or so years have passed since Mary Dowd left school, and Mrs. Nightwing was her teacher, then Mrs. Nightwing is somewhere between 45 and 50 and n that case Emma Thompson or even my personal favorite Laura Linney would be suitable for the part!!
I chose Romola Garai as Miss Moore cause Gemma describes her as quite good looking but not stunning, sweet and nice, barely young enough to be still marriageable (Romola is 25) and gives her a rebellious air!! Natalie Portman would be an other great suggestion!!
Claire Forlani would make an excellent Mary Dowd/Virginia Doyle cause she's beautiful, with very distinct facial characteristics, she has a mysterious and charming air, is a great actress and resembles Rachel Hurd-Wood who's my one and only Gemma!!!
When it comes to Mr. Doyle I'm torn cause both Colin Firth and Ralph Fiennes are superb!! However, I have to admit that strictly based on looks, and taking in consideration my choices of Virginia Doyle and Gemma, Fiennes is more suitable!! But then so is Jason Isaacs who portrayed Mr. Darling in Peter Pan!! Rachel was Wendy Darling.
They choices are endless!!!

Of your 2 Nightwing choces I'd chose Emma Thompson.
I really like the suggestion of Jason Isaacs for Mr Doyle

I definitely like Romola Garai as Miss Moore. I think she could pull off the sweet and pretty Miss Moore. Does anyone have any ideas about who could play Simon though? I must admit I do really enjoy him

If I was to cast the movie.....: Rachel Hurd-Wood.....as Gemma Doyle Saoirse Ronan.....as Felicity Worthington Sarah Bolger.....as Ann Bradshaw Anna Popplewell.....as Pippa Cross Claire Forlani.....as Mary Dowd/Virginia Doyle Natalie Portman .....as Miss Moore/Circe/Sarah Rees-Toome (simply cause I can't see my original choice,Romola Garai, as a vicious, power-hungry witch that sacrifice children do monsters!) Helena Bonham Carter.....as Miss McCleethy Emma Thompson.....as Mrs. Nightwing Judi Dench.....as Eugenia Spence Gary Oldman.....as Mr. Fowlson (of course Rhett Butler would be a far betterl choice, #1 & #2, but having him would be rather impossible) Ralph Fiennes or Jason Isaacs.....as Mr. Doyle James or Oliver Phelps.....as Tom Doyle William Moseley or Alex Pettyfer.....as Simon Middleton Brenda Blethyn.....as Madam LeFarge Rosamund Pike.....as Mrs.Worthington Daniel Craig.....as Admiral Worthington Geoffrey Rush.....as Lord Denby I can't seam to find an Amar since I'm not familiar with a lot of Indian actors but I imagined him quite like Omar Sharif when he was younger. The fearsome figure in black from 'Lawrence of Arabia'. Naveen Andrews could possibly be a good choice? He was born in London and is of Indian origin. I'll never be able to find a Kartik cause I love this character way too much and noone is going to be good enough for the part.

I really like some of your choices for characters. I think sarah bolger would have to be a bit chubbier to be ann though. And I still like romola garai as miss. moore, although I honestly dont think she could pull off the bloodthirsty bit as good as another actor could. she seems too sweet and innocent. Who do you think would be a good actor for ithal?

Who do you think would be a good actor for ithal? Maybe Charlie Hunnam!! Off course Ithal might have to be a bit darker since he's a Gypsy and Charlie is 14 years Saoirse senior, who's my favorite Fee but he'd be quite good as Ithal.

ohhh I do like him, but yes I think Ithal would need to be a bit darker. I can't wait for them to actually decide who will play all the roles! Its gonna be so exciting!

I'm sure it's going to be quite disappointing for me cause my ideal cast is already fixed in my mind and I'll find it hard to let go of them. Especially, Rachel as Gemma. I mean who's better to portray Gemma?? Just look at her: img136.imageshack.us/img136/3999/perfumedvdcaps182rw6.jpgBy the way, Charles Sturridge the guy who's listed as aGaTB's attached director has a son, Tom Sturridge, who's an actor and daddy might get a role for him in the movie BUT I'm going to be seriously pissed off if he gets Kartik!!! He's the vampire-ish one, not the toad-looking one: i48.photobucket.com/albums/f218/TomSturridge/Like%20Minds%20Promo/0001cwx0.jpgWonderful Diandra made two manips of the main characters for me using my dream cast!! Enjoy!!! Also those are two manips (again by Diandra) of Rachel and Rupert Grint together for those who think they'd make good brother and sister. Personally I think they look way to hot together for that!! They'd be more believable as Gemma and Simone. Also I post a pic of Rachel with William Moseley, who'd also make a good Simone.
