So, I probably wouldn't have normally read Maureen Johnson's books, but after the hilarious interviews with Libba, and Libba's obvious respect for her, I decided to start. Would anyone care to join me in entering the world of Maureen Johnson, or has anyone here already fallen in love with her books (or not, if the case may be)?
This weekend, I read Girl At Sea and 13 Little Blue Envelopes, and really enjoyed both and highly recommend them! I was surprised just how misleading the covers were, the girls in both books were not typical annoying (in my opinion) pretty, popular girls, as the covers suggest, but really down-to-earth and interesting. They were both pretty quick reads, and kept me turning the pages at a startling rate. They may not be quite as profound as some of Libba's stuff, but they certainly are fun and entertaining!

Lol, same here! a\After seeing the interview I went out and bought 13 Little Blue Envelopes. I liked it quite a bit!
So what's 'Girl at Sea' about?

I read "Girl At Sea" first, it was about a girl who goes with her father on one of his archeological dives and spends the summer on a boat in the Mediterranean around the Greek Islands. It has a mystery back story, some typical father/daughter conflicts, and a lovable but a bit annoyingly arrogant love interest. I personally liked 13 Little Blue Envelopes more, but most people I know liked this one better.

Sounds cool! I'll definitely be reading that. Do you know which Maureen book you're going to read next?

I was thinking either 'Suite Scarlett' or 'The Key to the Golden Firebird,' whichever I can find first I suppose

My friend bought me the Bermunez Triangle book, but I never got around to reading it. I'll have to start and let you know how it goes!
