I found this the other day, it has really been bothering me!
On page 76, Fee and her gang lock Gemma into the church.
On pg 98, it says,
...The week passes in a numbing routine. Prayers. Deportment. Posture. Morning and nigh, I enjoy the same social outcast's status as Ann. In the evenings, the two of us sit by the fire in the great hall, the stillness broken only by the laughter coming from Felicity and her acolytes as they pointedly ignore us. By week's end, I'm sure I've become invisible. But not to everyone. There is one message from Kartik...
Then on page 113, after Gemma has discovered Fee and Ithal:
...Felicity turns to me. "You have to help me." "Is this a request from the girl who locked me in the chapel last night?" I say, folding my arms across my chest.... "I didn't mean anything by last night. It was just a laugh, that's all." When she see's that..."
Anyone else find any other mistakes?

It annoys me that young adult books tend to have so many editing mistakes, some are really messed up *sigh* I guess there are worse things, like forgetting to put in the final page hahaha

yes, like in the third book the motto of Spence changed from "grace, charm and beauty" to, i believe, "grace, strength and beauty".

I think that compared to other books The Gemma Doyle trilogy's mistakes are insignificant. HP series was filled with mistakes and because the books were written parallel to the movies production things that were in the movies but not in the books tent to make their way into the new ones distorting the plot so I'm rather happy with the job that has done with the GD trilogy

I hadn't really noticed that in the harry potter series in terms of regarding the book/movie parallels. I've seen other types of mistakes in the Potter books (like major plot holes!) but I never noticed anything like that. What exactly were you talking about?

In PoA Hermione slapped Draco but in HBP Harry remembers her punching him, Slughorn calling Ron Rupert, Hermione becoming more fierce and effective in battle in the last books as opposed to the PS/SS Hermione who was getting so panicked she was looking for wood in order to start a fire or PoA Hermione who was cowering in the corner during the whole Marauders reunion, Ron becoming more petty and ridiculous as opposed to brave, witty and funny early Ron and so on....or at least that's how I feel. Especially in the last two books I could see the movies spread all over them.

Oh! I see. Though I don't think the Hermione thing is necessarily due to the movies; I think that could just be character development. And Ron getting weaker is something I didn't really notice...but the other stuff! Now that I remember, those are quite annoying!

Anyone else find any other mistakes? In the US Paperback copy I have it says:
"You have to help me." "Is this a request from the girl who locked me in the chapel last week?" I say, folding my arms across my chest. "I didn't mean anything by it. It was just a laugh, that's all"
It's the audiobook that has the mistake but I guess it was just the narrator misreading the text.

Or the narrator was reading from a different edition/re-print than yours. I have the US paperback too, and it most definitely says " last night" NOT "last week" in my book. They probably saw the mistake and changed it for the re-print.I know they do that it a lot of books, so it's nice to see they fixed it!

Well, in my copy it says that it was printed in the U.S.A. on March 2005. Maybe you are right and there was a mistake in the first print which they corrected it in the new ones. I think spotting and correcting is just great and I'm glad to leave it at that. ;D

yes, like in the third book the motto of Spence changed from "grace, charm and beauty" to, i believe, "grace, strength and beauty". Yeah! What was with that?! Also, in the first book, Felicity's eyes were gray, then "sapphire blue". Hmm.... I picture her more vividly with "sapphire blue" eyes.
