I like Anna Popplewell as ann If Ann gets Popplewell's stunning looks then who are they going to cast as Pippa?? Who, and most importantly HOW, can anyone be more gorgeous than that. When they cast the girl they have to remember to look at the bigger picture. It's NOT just a matter of 'who are we casting as Ann' but more a matter of 'who are we casting as Ann keeping in mind Pippa's got to be the stunning one'!! They're got to be some balance and make things believable. Ann is pretty in the realms, yeas but pretty isn't quite as strong as beautiful is and Pippa is beautiful 24/7.

they need to pick a girl who is chubby, but not fat, plain, but not ugly
I might be mad, but in one of the books, when Ann is in the realms, does't gemma say something like 'this is Ann without worries, meekness and the need to fill her emptiness with scones' or something like that so I think the girl chosen needs to have the POTENTIAL to be beautiul, but her shyness and insecurities prevent that
I am trying to find a girl to use in the vid I am going to make, but I can't find someone I like...
help?

sorry...I can't really think of anyone like that. I do sort think that Dakota Fanning would be pretty good if she were a year older or so. She's not stunning, but she can be quite pretty, and she her roundness of the face is something I really associate with Ann.

Dakota Fanning is more of a Fee to me!!! I LOVE Dakota, she's the epitome of acting in my books, but why cast an American actress, who's going to struggle with the ascent and all, when you can cast a British one?

Ya, know, while I do think they will cast mostly British, I don't think casting an American is any problem. When America's do British accents, it's usually the closer to the proper, old-fashioned Britsh accent (or so I've heard), and also, if they really wanted a certain american actress, they could easily give them accent lessons, like they did with Renee Z. in Bridget Jone's Diary.

I'm not a native speaker so most of the time I can't get the slight mistakes that give away an American faking a British accent but every single British I know always say Americans can NOT fake a good British accent. British can fake a perfect American accent, take Hugh Laurie for example, but Americans faking a British accent always end up sounding funny, and if they cast a teen actress to portray such deep and complicated characters, why trouble her even further by having to fake an accent as well?? And the audience will concentrate more on whether or not she maintains her accent throughout the whole film rather than her acting. It's unnecessary that's all but hey if they cast Fanning I'm all for it!!

I'm thinking that as it's looking like it'll be while before AGATB is made, I'm looking at younger actresses. For Ann, Saoirse Ronan: And, look! She's actually quite pretty, so for the realms!

She actually isn't a bad choice. I think some people have wanted her as Fee, but she's far from Fee for me.

I've always wanted her as Gemma. Those eyes...

For me Saoirse has Fee written all over her. Golden blond hair, sparkling gray-blue eyes but what nails it for me is her incredible acting abilities. I guess that's why I like her so much as Fee cause I can imagine her acting the part and trust her to make justice to Fee. I can see her bringing out the broken charming proud Fee making justice to all the complicated deep layers of this character.
Tina Majorino would make a good Ann
Also Jena Malone

i found the perfect ann...she's somewhat old, but has a child-like face so she could definitely pull of playing a 16 year old... Mary Nighy, played both a 13 year old girl and a 20+ year old woman in the same yr...she is sooo talented and beautiful without being stunning...dunno if she can sing though,,,, here'sa couple of pictures of her... www.britishtheatreguide.info/images/marynighy.jpgwww.superiorpics.com/mary_nighy/

I really like Mary Nighy! Good find.
Both Jena Malone and Tina Majorino are too old to play Ann, but if Tina was a few years younger she'd be pretty good.
