Simon: William Moseley *drools* I think he's perfect for Simon. Tom: Rupert Grint He's just how I picture Tom Lord Denby: Alan Rickman Perfectly creepy/sleezy lol (Not that Alan IS sleezy, but he plays it very well) Miss Moore/Circe: Anne Hathaway She may be a bit young for the part but she fits Gemma Doyle: Emma Watson or Rachel Hurd-Wood Rachel Hurd-Wood Emma Watson Ann Bradshaw: Daveigh Chase She's good at being creepy/ withdrawn. (And Daveigh can sing very well, so that's a bonus) Felicity Worthington: Nikki Reed Pippa Cross: Anna Popplewell (this is the only one that I will not change my mind on, Anna MUST be Pip!) Gorgeous...

Ooh, Anne Hathaway! Nice one! Too bad she's probably too young.

While I'd prefer unknowns, her are my fav's for some of the girls
Pippa-Anna Popplewell Gemma-Saoirse Ronan Ann-Juno Temple, then Sarah Bolger Cecily-Emma Watson
I don’t think I’ll ever find a Fee I truly like…even the one’s I’ve picked out honestly don’t look like her—all their eyes are far too large.

fee is a difficult choice. she has to be pretty, but not too delicate. i think she has to have a certain fierceness to her features.

Oh lord please don't let Emma Watson anywhere near this movie!!! She's a pretty girl and comes across as a very nice person but I hate her acting!!! She is not becoming the character; she is adjusting the character to her personality and becomes more and more concerned about her image to take risks. She's already butchered one of my favorite characters I don't think I could stand to watch her do this to any of the main 4 characters in aGaTB least of all to me beloved Gemma!!

See, that's why I think she'd be good as Cee. The character of Cee reminds me a lot of Movie! Hermione, minus the intellect.

See, that's why I think she'd be good as Cee. The character of Cee reminds me a lot of Movie! Hermione, minus the intellect. After watching Emma as Pauline Fossil in 'Ballet Shoes' I thought too she'd make a good Cecily Temple but I changed my mind almost immediately. Emma is doing what Kristen Stewart has been accusing some actors of doing: She doesn't see! She's too preoccupied with looking good on the big screen and come across as what she believes to be nice and cool to lose herself in the character.
I was watching 'Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium' the other day and was impressed for the gazillionth time by Hoffman's exceptional acting skills. When you watch him act you forget he is Hoffman cause at the moment that's not who he is, he is the character. It's not just the words that come out of his mouth it's the way he walks, the way he talks, the way he moves, everything change on him from top to toe; from the challenged but terribly gifted Raymond in 'Rain Man' to the heartbreakingly clumsily loving father in 'Kramer vs. Kramer', or the militant crime fighting attorney in 'Runaway Jury' to the hilariously wise and terribly charming Edward Magorium in 'Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium' Hoffman is teaching supreme acting with every single one of his performances.
Watson doesn't have that and I think she had more than enough time and chances to develop it.
Julia Winter on the other side, the London schoolgirl who was plucked from obscurity to play Veruca Salt in the 2005 film Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, managed to woo everyone with her performance and owned the scene every time she appeared. She would make a terrific Cecily Temple; if she's still into acting that is.
And I think Evanna Lynch fits almost perfectly the description of the plain, tiny, sidekick, who only offers her opinion after everyone else has and stays in the shadow of the school's evil witch. Therefore I think she'd make a great Elizabeth Poole and she has proven with her performance as Luna Lovegood she can pull of anything if she's passionate enough about it.
As for Martha Hawthorne, I've always imagined her as Juno Temple, don't know why.
If Watson must have a part in this film then I think her over-acting over-dramatic performance would be far more fitting for the mentally unstable Nell Hawkinds.

I think I'd be too frightened to see Emma Watson as Nell! That...does not paint a pretty picture in my mind. Also, I've changed my mind about Ann. Now I want Jessica Ashworth.

I agree with you juniper on both Emma and Jessica Ashworth. I don't think there's a part for Emma in this trilogy and Jessica does look absolutely PERFECT for the part of Ann and I quite liked her acting in 'Becoming Jane'.
